THE GARDEN

is a photographic study of a permaculture garden.
Thanks to the particular cultivation method, a botanical microcosm of around 150 plant varieties grew in a very small area. All the crop and wild plant seeds have been collected or shared. All plants entail stories of culture, migration, and colonization and are at the same time a living archive of genetic and cultural diversity.
The field was created in 2022 by artist Yoeri Guépin as a vernacular garden in Künstlerdorf Schöppingen.
