Cities are multi-species habitats.
This photographic essay documents the often overlooked diversity of urban flora and its habitats. You’ll see wild plants growing spontaneously along roadsides, as well as exotic street trees, hybrid cultivars in front gardens or in tropical greenhouses, community gardens, and beefriendly flower beds in front of office buildings. The urban space becomes a vivid polyphony of various forms of life.
Both the photographs and the artist book were made possible by the photography grants from the foundations SHannoverStiftung and Dresdner Stiftung für Kunst und Kultur der Ostsächsischen Sparkasse Dresden in 2024. COHABITAT Stadt was 2025 published by publish&print Dresden.
